God has no gray, and He recognizes no fence. This is no small thing to reckon with, especially since we are so often creatures of compromise. God is absolute, and to fail to say yes to Him, is to say no. Everything is at stake in how we choose – our children, our spouses, our families, and our own lives. Have we truly seen that His ways are not our ways? It’s our way or God’s way, and we’ll have to leave our ways for His.

In June's Message of the Month, Martha Kilpatrick quietly and lovingly reveals the peril in believing that we can follow God while reserving the right to do what we want. If the world is our source, then God will not be – we cannot have it both ways. "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth" (Rev. 3:16). As chaos, crisis and war increase all around us, we have never been more in need of a Good Shepherd. We're tempted to look at what it costs us to follow God unreservedly, but here Martha clearly reminds us of all we're given by our Father, all that He does for us, and the unbearable loss of the eternal Light Himself that we risk. God’s ways are not our ways, and He is absolute.
