“If we are going to be ready for Jesus Christ, we have to stop being religious. In other words, we must stop using religion as if it were some kind of a lofty lifestyle - we must be spiritually real.”
Oswald Chambers: March 29 My Utmost for His Highest
Living Spiritual REAL in Trying Times
This month’s message is an honest confession and spiritually real. We, God’s children, are weak and dependent to our core. This is who we are, but many of us attempt to weld our strength in an attempt to master life. This path always has dire consequences, even if we’re able to accomplish our tasks. Having strength as our source is never spiritually real.
Can you imagine the Lord using “weakness” to bring us into dependance? So many scriptures celebrate our weakness as the way to experience the Lord’s strength. Paul boasted in his weakness, Christ called us to come as a little child, and we are the “sheep” of His pasture. All these postures elevate weakness and dependence by design.
During times of chaos, confusion and corruption many call for strength. But in these days we can live spiritually real and experience Christ. There’s a huge contrast between our complete helplessness and God’s utter sufficiency. Martha’s message illuminates through the Word and her testimony how we live unshakable during the shaking.
